Mission
The mission of Drug Free Rogers-Lowell is to reduce the demand for illegal drugs and other harmful substances in the home, workplace and community. Since 1998, DFRL has continued to evolve in order to fight current drug issues and advocate healthy lifestyles in the entire community. All materials produced are provided to the community in both English and Spanish, as Drug Free Rogers-Lowell strives for cultural sensitivity in all activities.
Programs include the following:
Methamphetamine Task Force
This task force started focusing its efforts on implementing legislation to place the main ingredient used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine behind the counter. DFRL wants to open the eyes of every citizen in Benton County to the extreme methamphetamine situation and to empower citizens against meth through education. Programs include: the Economic Impact of Methamphetamine Use in Benton County Survey conducted in conjunction with University of Arkansas in 2003 and Methamphetamine Awareness Month held each year in October. 2008 marks the fifth year for the month-long awareness and prevention campaign.
Tobacco Prevention
DFRL strives to decrease the use of tobacco and the effects of second-hand smoke through education to youth and adults.
Underage Drinking
DFRL continues to educate the community with the issues of Underage Drinking in Benton County through Town Hall style meetings and educational presentations.
